I've waited a few days post my experience to ensure emotional aspects did not cloud my writing. I reached out to the dealer via the internet about a GMC sierra 1500. Initially, I was interested in a 2017 SLT, but was willing to maybe go for an SLE depending on the price. Upon being told by the sales manager Brian there was a 2017 sierra SLT he could settle for $39,600 I decided to move forward. As the email screenshot shows, i was interested in the pepperdust SLT 2017 as discussed over the phone. From there we went ahead with the negotiation and although Brian was depreciating my trade-in by $4k i was still willing to move forward because it was an aggressive price on the SLT. I held up my end of the bargain, reached out to my bank had a pre-approval done and began the paperwork for the loan. Also took a day of work to resolve this and take care of the insurance paperwork. Right before heading over to the bank I decided to reach out before and ask the bank to provide me the information of the vehicle. It was only then I found out through one of the packages on the truck I was being sold a sierra SLE for an over-inflated price (he left the model number blank on the bank paperwork so it did not stand out I was buying an SLE instead of SLT) Some of the numbers matched the pepperdust slt 2017 so basically it was clear I was being setup for drive 2 hours with a bank check on my hand to arrive at the dealer and be forced into buying an inferior truck i had not agreed on buying. I called Brian to call him out on his shady tactic and to give him an opportunity to do right and stand by the original deal he made, but instead all i heard was more lies. I have never had the displeasure of having my time wasted by such a deceiving dealer. I lost income, my credit was impacted due to the inquiry and had my personal time wasted. My experience was the very opposite of their mission statement. I warn any potential customer to BEWARE of purchasing a vehicle at this dealer and if by some chance you decide to move forward, make sure you have eyes on the back of your head to anticipate the deceit and shady sales tactics. The prices you see are obviously only to lure you in and in my experience, try to rip you off any and all possible ways - even if that means putting you in a position to buy an inferior car for the price of a better one you want.
