He's an exceptional teacher, mentor, athlete and business person. There is a great sense of camaraderie among the students, regardless of belt color or ability. He really challenges you to develop physically and mentally.
My son and I both take karate classes here. Master Horan is great with the kids and adults alike. The classes offer top notch instruction and excellent conditioning.

It places emphasis on conditioning, so you will not only be able to defend yourself, but be in great shape and flexible as well. Forms, combinations, sparring, grappling, weapons... this school is well-rounded, complemented by Villari''s TV.
The experience my family has had with Villari's is excellent. At one time both of my son's and I were taking classes. The instructors were great with my son who is on the Autism spectrum, they taught him how to use self control in his daily life. The adult classes that I took were wonderful, I never felt intimidated, and learned a great deal of self defense. I recommend people stop by and take a class and experience what they have to offer.
Our son Ethan has come a long way in such a short time. From being shy and timid, to a boy who displays confidence. Villari's Martial Arts of Torrington has given Ethan the tools to grow, not only in the dojo, but personally as well.
The only reason we stopped studying at Villari''s was due to moving out of state. We miss it.
